Narrative Description

The District acquired this 63,418 square-foot lot from Howard University in an exchange for the Bond Bread Building at 2114-2146 Georgia Avenue NW. The District anticipates issuing a solicitation for the site in 2010. The project will likely call for high-density, mixed-use development composed of residential, retail, and office features, with 30 percent of residential units designated as affordable housing.  At present, Howard is removing and/or abandoning utilities on the site. This process is expected to be completed in mid-December 2009.
