Land Use Planning

Beginning in Fall 2005, the Office of Planning begab engaging community residents in developing land use plans for the following sections of these corridors.

Targeted Corridor Boundaries
Pennsylvania Avenue, SE Second Street, SE to Southern Avenue
Georgia Avenue, NW Decatur Street, NW to Eastern Avenue
Benning Road, NE/SE Bladensburg Road to Southern Avenue, SE
Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE and South Capitol Street Lebaum Street, SE at Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue to Southern Avenue at South Capitol Street
Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE/ Deanwood/Watts Branch Park To be determined

Land use plans exist for all other sections of the corridors and are serving as implementation guides for public actions and private investments through Great Streets.

7th Street / Georgia Avenue, NW

Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue + South Capitol Street
