District Requests Proposals for Convention Center Redevelopment

(Washington, DC) The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development today announced that it will release the Request for Proposals for the existing Convention Center on September 9, 2002.

As the capstone of an 18-month planning process, the RFP release signals the beginning of the development process for the 10.2 acre site. Many observers have called the site one the most attractive downtown development sites in the eastern United States.

To obtain a copy of the RFP, please send a cashier's check for $200 payable to the DC Treasurer to:

Existing Convention Center Site Redevelopment
