Williams today designated seven new neighborhoods as DC Main Streets. The designees, comprised of neighborhood business districts organized by local volunteers and community development professionals, were competitively selected to receive financial and technical assistance to support enhancement efforts in older, traditional neighborhood business districts. "Most of our businesses in the District are small businesses. "With Main Streets and reStore DC, we're supporting our home-grown retail and growing the unique shopping options at the core of our economy," Mayor Anthony A. Williams said.
