Mayor Williams Announces Winning Design for New World Class Park In Southeast

(Washington, DC) On Friday, December 10, Mayor Anthony A. Williams will announce the winner of a design competition for a new park at M and 2nd Streets, SE on a 3-block site along the route of the historic Washington Canal. More than 35 leading designers from around the world responded to the initial request for qualifications (RFQ). A blue-ribbon jury of design professionals and community leaders evaluated the proposals and selected a winning design.

Rain Location: In the event of rain the press conference will be held directly across 2nd Street in the Federal Gateway building on the 10th floor overlooking the park site. The Federal Gateway Building is located at 1100 New Jersey Avenue, SE.
